Botulinum toxin (botox), as an injectable treatment, is used in these cases to paralyze specific muscles and lead them to gradual atrophy, such as the masseter muscle, which in some people is very developed, giving, for example, an appearance of incorrect masculinity in women. It is also used to reduce localized sweating (hyperhidrosis) in areas such as the armpits, palms, or soles, offering long-lasting dryness and comfort, as it temporarily blocks the nerves that activate the sweat glands.

Additionally, it is used by orthopedic specialists for muscles that have spasticity.
