Otoplasty – Correction of Auricular Deformities

Otoplasty is a surgical procedure aimed at correcting deformities of the auricle, whether these concern its shape, size, or its distance from the skull (protruding ears). It can also be performed for congenital absence or underdevelopment of the auricle. The procedure is performed:

• In children aged 6 to 15 years under general anesthesia, as cartilage development is complete at this age.

• In adults, with local anesthesia and sedation, depending on the case and the patient’s needs.

Recovery is mild, with a healing period of about one month and special bandaging for the first few days. The result is permanent and natural, with no visible scars.
